Time is running out to submit proposals for suicide prevention projects to address regional needs.

The Mental Health Association of New York State's Suicide Prevention Project is made possible by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) Suicide Prevention Initiative.

Approximately $50,000 has been allocated for each OMH region to fund projects through this proposal process. A wide range of project activities will be considered for this award. The maximum award to one applicant is $10,000; however, it is preferred that requests fall within the $4,000- $6,000 range. All projects will be initiated by July 2011 and completed and funds used by December 31, 2011.

The deadline for submission is May 6, 2011.
