The protest will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside the Sagamore Resort, 110 Sagamore Road, in Bolton Landing. Protesters also plan to circle the Sagamore by boat and plane to deliver their message.

NYSUT and AQE will loudly call out Brown - who has been attacking public schools and teachers - as a puppet of billionaire hedge-funder managers who want to privatize and profit from public education. Protest organizers noted Brown is neither a public school parent, nor did she ever attend public schools in New York.

Earlier this month, NYSUT and AQE called on state legislators to boycott Brown's appearance at the Business Council event, noting that Brown's group, the Partnership for Educational Justice, is a billionaire-backed astroturf organization that exists only to attack teachers, their unions and public education.

New York State United Teachers is a statewide union with more than 600,000 members in education, human services and health care. NYSUT is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association and the AFL-CIO.
