Delegates to NYSUT’s 44th Representative Assembly elected Joe Cantafio, West Seneca Teachers Association, the NEA State Delegate after secret balloting Friday night.
Cantafio garnered 211,042.77 votes over his opponent, Michael Herlan, Marion Teachers Association. Herlan’s tally was 78,853.23.
Serena Kotch, Cleveland Hill Education Association, ran unopposed for NEA State Alternate Delegate and was elected by a single vote cast by NYSUT's secretary-treasurer.
