SRP Recognition Day

SRP Recognition Day PosterSchool-Related Professionals Recognition Day is almost here and, if you haven’t yet planned your celebration, visit www.nysut.org/srpday to jump-start your planning. There, you can watch NYSUT Second Vice President Paul Pecorale’s video message about SRP Recognition Day, get inspired by reading the creative and thoughtful ways NYSUT locals have celebrated their SRPs and download celebration materials to print out.

Local presidents may request free SRP Recognition Day celebration kits and “SRPs Essential to Education” stickers at www.nysut.org/srpday (requires leader logon).   Supplies are extremely limited and orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until they are exhausted.

“SRP Recognition Day is a great way to connect with our fellow SRPs, with our school districts and with our communities,” said NYSUT SRP Advisory Committee Chairperson Kim McEvoy. “Whether you celebrate your own SRP local, create a celebration for an SRP local in your district or work collaboratively with your school district and PTA/PTO to do so, please take time on Nov. 20 to recognize the vital contributions that SRPs make in our school districts and in our communities every day.”

SRPs are secretaries, custodians, nurses, security staff, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, mechanics, clerical workers, teacher aides, teaching assistants and many other job titles.  SRPs are essential to education.
