Dear World Language Educators,
The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL) of the New York State Education Department (NYSED) will hold a webinar, available in six different time slots, to explain how the June 2021 Exemptions from Diploma Requirements apply to Languages Other Than English (LOTE) courses. This informative session will explain in plain language the guidance issued from NYSED in March regarding the June/August 2021 exemptions as they relate to LOTE and the Seal of Biliteracy. Participants will be able to speak directly with an OBEWL staff member and/or submit their questions via chat. While the session will not be recorded, a PDF of the presentation will be made available to all attendees and will be posted on the OBEWL website following the final session.
The webinar is open to all NYS educators and no registration is required. The sessions will be available on the following dates and times:
