2025 Regents Exam Issues - We Need to Hear from You

Source:  NYSUT Communications

NYSUT has received widespread reports of serious problems with the 2025 Biology and Earth Science Regents exams. From what we've heard, teachers prepared students according to known curriculum standards, students studied the required material, and parents supported their children, all following what they believed were established guidelines.

Despite these proper preparations, it seems the exam content did not align with the approved curriculum that educators were directed to teach and students were expected to learn. This represents a fundamental breakdown in the testing process that is unfair to students, teachers and families who followed all protocols.

Teachers and students are not at fault. Something clearly went wrong systemically, and NYSUT is working on behalf of our members and their students to understand what happened and work with the State Education Department on corrective action for the future.

If you experienced issues with these tests, please let us know by completing the form below. Your input is crucial as we work with SED to address these problems and protect the interests of students and educators across New York State.
