Heads up! Speak Truth to Power, a global initiative to educate and empower young people to fight against human rights injustices, is entering the video documentary world with a contest that challenges middle and high school students in New York to create a film based on courageous human rights defenders.

Students will be invited to create a 3-6 minute video about a human rights violation and the defender(s) fighting to stop it. The project is aimed at demonstrating the capacity of each individual to create change. The video contest is sponsored by NYSUT and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
