Center named for Cortese

Caption: Former AFT Secretary-Treasurer and past NYSUT Vice President Toni Cortese, third from left, was feted by NYSUT's officers, Board of Directors and staff during a reception marking more than 40 years of her dedication and union activism. Cortese, a founding officer of NYSUT, stepped down from the AFT in September. In her honor, NYSUT's Research and Educational Services, the department Cortese led during her tenure as a NYSUT officer, will now forever be known as the Antonia Cortese Research and Educational Services Center.
