NYSUT United welcomes submissions from school librarians, reading teachers, English teachers or other educators who want to recommend a book.
In each issue of the union magazine, the "Check It Out" column features a book appropriate for K-12 students. To suggest a book, please include one paragraph each on Why I Chose This Book; How Teachers Can Use This Book; and What I Like Best (i.e. Illustrations, unique writing style, strong voice, combination of history and fiction, etc.)
Send submissions, including the name of your local union and your mailing address, to lfrenett@nysutmail.org. Authors of published columns will receive a modest gift card.
