Short Takes: Win a new science lab for your school

Source: NYSUT United

The Northrop Grumman Foundation, through its Fab School Labs online contest, will invest up to $500,000 in five public middle schools. The schools have a chance to win an "extreme makeover" to their science lab to drive students' interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

The Fab School Labs contest is open to public middle schools and will make grants of up to $100,000 available to five winning schools to fund a school lab makeover.

Beginning May 4 and continuing through June 12, teachers, principals and school administrators can enter their eligible school by visiting www.FabSchoolLabs.com, where they can learn about the contest and submit their application, along with photos and video to help tell their story.

The winning schools will team up with Fab School Labs contest partner Flinn Scientific Inc. to design a state-of-the-art lab complete with all of the tools, resources and furnishings needed.
