Shawn Jasinski, United University Professions UAlbany chapter, was named the 2016 Commencement Torch Night Professor. Each year, graduating seniors bestow this honor on one professor each year who has a significant impact both academically and personally on students. Jasinski is a lecturer in the Writing and Critical Inquiry department.
Michele Simonetty, Dover Wingdale Teachers Association, was selected to present on co-teaching at the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) national conference in October. Simonetty is an elementary level special education teacher and an adjunct professor at Marist College.
