"Bob's skillful leadership of our annual convention for 44 years has helped create a strong, democratic organization that effectively serves our members, our professions and the larger community," said NYSUT President Karen E. Magee.

"Bob is a loyal United Federation of Teachers member, a proud New Yorker, a fierce advocate for our issues and ideals. And most of all, he is a friend," said Magee.
