Hundreds of NYSUT retirees traveled to headquarters in Albany for the 2016 Retiree Contiguous Election District (At-Large) 51–53 meeting in October. The group is headed by Florence McCue, at-large ED 51–53 director. Retiree winners of the 2016 NYSUT Communications awards were honored, NYSUT Vice President Paul Pecorale announced a new grant program for retiree councils and keynote speaker state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli thanked retirees for their efforts on his behalf.
