The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for April 2014 was 237.072 representing a change of 2.0 percent over the index for April 2013.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for April 2014 was 252.506— representing a change of 1.6 percent over the index for April 2013.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for April 2014 was 259.985— representing a change of 1.6 percent over the index for April 2013.
The May CPI will be available June 17, 2014.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 1.8 percent for 2014 and 2.0 percent for 2015.
