The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for February 2020 was 258.678 — representing a change of 2.3 percent over the index for February 2019.

The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for February 2020 was 273.080 — representing a change of 2.4 percent over the index for February 2019.

The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for February 2020 was 282.577— representing a change of 2.4 percent over the index for February 2019.

The March CPI will be available April 10, 2020.

Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found in the complete document. CPI increases are projected at 1.9 percent for 2020 and 2.1 percent for 2021.
