Consumer Price Index July 2021

The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for July 2021 was 273.003 — representing a change of 5.4 percent over the index for July 2020.

The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for July 2021 was 285.220 — representing a change of 4.3 percent over the index for July 2020.

The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for July 2021 was 293.553 — representing a change of 3.5 percent over the index for July 2020.

The August CPI will be available September 13, 2021.

Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found in the complete document. CPI increases are projected at  4.0 percent for 2021 and 3.0 percent for 2022.
