Vote YES on the Smart Schools Bond Act

NYSUT supports the Smart Schools Bond Act Referendum, which appears on your ballots as Proposal #3. It would authorize issuance of bonds in the amount of $2 billion to be used for projects related to the following:

  • Purchasing educational technology equipment and facilities, such as interactive whiteboards, computer servers, desktop and laptop computers, tablets and high-speed broadband or wireless Internet.
  • Constructing and modernizing facilities to accommodate pre-K programs and replacing classroom trailers with permanent instructional space.
  • Installing high-tech security features in school buildings. It would help ensure that students graduate with the skills they need to succeed in the economy of today and tomorrow.
