This Fact Sheet, updated March 2019, provides an overview of the school receivership law adopted by the Legislature in 2015 and the corresponding regulations adopted by the Board of Regents. NYSUT is on record opposing receivership as an assault on local control and collective bargaining and is working to repeal the law.
