Hurricane Idalia is expected to make landfall this week in Florida. We encourage NYSUT members impacted by the storm to apply for relief, consult the checklist, and visit the additional resources listed below.

Apply for Relief: 2023 New York Flooding
If you're a NYSUT member impacted by the recent flooding in New York State, you may apply for relief from the NYSUT Disaster Relief Fund, the union’s 501(c) 3 charitable organization.
Those in FEMA-designated areas should use the FEMA relief form; others may use the general assistance form below.
Our hearts go out to our family, friends and fellow New Yorkers impacted by the storm. We encourage donations to the Disaster Relief Fund to help alleviate some of the difficulties our members are facing. Thank you.

About the Fund
NYSUT is committed to helping members in times of need through its NYSUT Disaster Relief and Scholarship Fund.
One of the charitable purposes of the fund is to promote and enhance the welfare of NYSUT members who are in need of assistance because of the occurrence of a natural or man-made disaster.
The NYSUT Disaster Relief and Scholarship Fund provides relief support for eligible losses stemming from: (a) man-made occurrences (such as an accidental house fire); (b) natural disasters not designated as federally declared qualified disasters (such as weather related storm damage); and (c) federally declared qualified disasters (such as flooding).
NYSUT Disaster Relief Grants are made possible primarily by donations from NYSUT Members along with support from NYSUT, AFT and NEA Member Benefits.
