Unplugged: Reclaiming Human-Centered Education

Unplugged: Reclaiming Human-Centered Education

Friday, Sept. 25, 2026 | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel, Albany NY

From AI to one-to-one devices, technology is transforming education faster than ever before. But are these changes truly helping students — or distracting from what matters most?

Unplugged: Reclaiming Human-Centered Education brings together educators, researchers, policymakers and advocates to examine the evidence, challenge assumptions and explore what it takes to create healthier, more balanced learning environments. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions and practical workshops, attendees will explore the impact of screens and AI on attention, learning, relationships and child development while discovering strategies that strengthen literacy, creativity, critical thinking and human connection.

Participants will leave with practical ideas for ensuring technology remains a tool—not the centerpiece—of teaching and learning, and with a renewed commitment to putting children, educators and authentic human relationships at the heart of education.
